Videoinstallation 2004

In the video of this installation, I have videotaped my husbond, at the time, very close up, while he is watching me dancing bellydance.

I got the idea some years earlier, when I were actually taking classes, and noticed the look at his face while I was practicing at home.

The concept is me turning the observation the other way, looking at him watching me. (Simone de Beauvoir; the changing of the object into a subject through the gaze.)

This is a 4 minuttes long video.

The installation is a monitor, that you have to walk by, while he is staring at you.The music from the dancing should come out in the room. Preferably it should have its own room.
